Ford F-100 Street Rod Pickup |
700 hp 521" Ford makes this truck rip!
|
|
Some of the over 80 awards this truck has won
in the last few years. |
At the moment this 1955 Ford
Pickup is equipped with a fresh 1974 Ford 460" engine that has been bored
and stroked to 521". We used an Eagle crank, Eagle H-beam rods and a wild
Comp-Cams full roller cam. We used Edelbrock Super Cobra-Jet cylinder heads.
We installed a Victor intake with an 1,150cfm Holley 4-barrel. Experience
tells me this newly built motor, which was built by myself, makes over 700
horsepower. This hot street engine was designed to run on pump
gas. Once broken in, this motor will go into our 62 Ford pickup with a 250
shot of NOS. We will put the 466" Lincoln back in this 55 at that time. We built up the Lincoln C-6 automatic transmission with a 2500
rpm converter and heavy duty clutches. We fed the power to a Ford 9" with
3:73 gears and a Detroit locker. We added electric windows, air
conditioning, a cool stereo, 4-wheel power disc brakes and a tilt fiberglass
hood. We used an IFS front clip with rack and pinion steering. Rubber
on the front is 2.45 R 60 15 T/A Radials. The bed
has been mildly tubbed to fit the 2.95 R 50 16 rear T/A Radials. The gray and
black paint on this truck is stunning. We used red Honduran Mahogany in the
back of this truck. The interior is triple tone gray with tribal scallops
and APC racing buckets. This is a frame-off restoration utilizing
far too many new parts to list. This is a show winning truck, taking "Best
Modified Pickup" on its first outing Memorial Day weekend. Call for a viewing appointment.
When we change the motor back to the 466" Lincoln bullet the price will be:
$45,000.

The license plate on this 1955 Ford reads
"4-Towin". We use this truck to take other hot-rods
and a highly customized Harley Davidson motorcycle to
outdoor car shows around the Northwest. It has almost 3,000 miles on it
since we built it. This makes it tough to win in ISCA indoor car shows because
we put it up on stands with mirrors and the judges scrutinize every inch, even under the truck.
But it can be done! All it takes is hard work and attention to details. The black 1965 Chevelle on the trailer is the "Featured Car".
Update:
This pickup has continued to win so many awards
over the last 6 years that I cannot keep up with the listings here. To date it has won over 80
honors from major hot rod shows from San Francisco California to Seattle Washington, Portland
Oregon to Salt Lake City Utah. It is a fan favorite at numerous outdoor
Cruise-Ins where it wins a trophy almost every time.
Here are some of the earlier awards it has won-
